"Get Real" | Josh Wedlock | TEDxDongdaemun HD
In this talk Josh Wedlock explains how one’s chances of success can greatly be enhanced by understanding the notions of the locus of control, engagement, self-awareness, self-efficacy and responsibility. Based on 18 years’ experience as a fitness trainer and teacher, Josh explains how these research-based concepts interrelate to drive success. In his talk Josh sums up the relationship between these five factors with the simple phrase. Joshua Wedlock has a double Masters Degree in Applied Linguistics and TESOL from Macquarie University and currently works as an EFL teacher and teacher trainer in Seoul, South Korea. When Josh is not working he dedicates his time to pursuing a Ph.D (which means he is currently completing a Masters of Research at Macquarie University) and running a free online education portal to help EFL/ESL teachers deliver high-quality education to their students. Having three year’s stage experience as a stand-up comedian in London (United Kingdom), eight years’ experience as a fitness trainer, and a decade’s worth of experience as a teacher, Josh’s unique background has allowed him to meet hundreds, if not thousands, of people. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
