WeDo 2.0 Mechanical Decimal Timer HD
It was always a fascination to watch mechanical counters during operation, e.g. in car odometers. For those informed, special double faced gears are needed, with four teeth on one side and eight teeth on the other. Although eight teeth gears exist, there are no four teeth gears in the kit, so one was specially designed and constructed - it is the one resembling a fanfare wheel. The construction was built for educational purposes and is a crude adaptation of a 10-second timer. Due to the limited number of pieces included in the WeDo 2.0 kit, only two decimal digits were constructed (look for the two rubber wheels covered all around with paper adhesive tape & ten decimal digits drawn on them with a pen) as shown clearly in the video. For the operation of the timer a simple Scratch 2.0 coding scenario was programmed.
