Rescuing ISEE-3 with Software-Defined Radio - Balint Seeber - Manly-Warringah Radio Society The Manly-Warringah Radio Society (http://www.mwrs.org.au) at Terrey Hills in Sydney, Australia, holds lectures on the third Wednesday of every month, except December. This lecture was great fun! In May 2014, Balint Seeber and his team reactivated the International Sun-Earth Explorer (ISEE-3) space probe, which had been inactive since completing its mission in 1997. With all the old NASA communication gear decommissioned and unavailable, Balint set about recreating the lost communication functions using Software-Defined Radio (SDR) and the Arecibo Observatory dish antenna to reboot the space probe. Join us with Balint for a behind the scenes look at the ISEE3 reboot project!
