In life, it’s the people you trust the most who cause you the most pain. It is the story of a Phoenix- a bird that rises from its own ashes. People will try to drag you down because that is where they are but you will rise high above everything because that is where you belong. The Making of Rishton Ne Rishton Ne- a musical journey and what a journey it has been!! Sitting in my living room, watching the snow falling, feeling a bit moody, I had started humming this tune. Little did I know that it will be the beginning of a new chapter in my life. When I created the tune on my keyboard and penned down the lyrics and sang it for the first time to my family, they were like, “ why can’t you sing a happy song?” ☺ My answer was “ Because PATHOS is most MELODIOUS” ( Psst: but don’t worry my next song is a happy romantic ballad) Coming back to Rishton Ne, after a local Edmonton performance of mine, I met an extremely talented keyboardist Mr. Baljit Kalsi who agreed to do the music arrangement for my song. Once the song was ready, I was scouting for someone to make my music video. At another one of my local performances, I met Abhilash Kochupurackal and a talented team of technicians who called themselves Dreamz Cube and when they heard the song, they were extremely enthusiastic about a conceptual music video. We then started assembling a team of local professionals like Designer Kavita Bokhiria, makeup artist Rakhee, Choreographer Mohit , photographer/ actor Kapil, dancers and actors and a dream that started out as just mine became the dream project of 18 different local artists and professionals. The grueling hours of work, the late night phone conversations, the unrelenting weather, nothing deterred us as we moved ahead with the support of thousands of people who connected with us on social platforms from the start of this project to see and be a part of its progress. Along the way we shared behind the scene pics, promos, polls, teasers and this journey took on a life of its own. It is with great pride that I present Rishton Ne- it is a dream that was made possible by a dedicated team of talented individuals from a small cold city called Edmonton and all the love and warmth we have received along the way, has made this effort worthwhile. This song is dedicated to every single person who has not let people, circumstances, negativity or problems drag him/her down, instead has risen above with single minded determination.
