AZULA TRICKS ZUKO AND IROH, THE CAVE OF TWO LOVERS AND OMASHU’S INVASION! When entering General Fong’s Earth Fortress, Fong tells Aang that he must learn to trigger his Avatar State at will to defeat the Fire Nation which have already killed many people. However, Aang and Katara are unsure about this as they believe Aang needs more training in both Earthbending and eventually, Firebending. Aang later tells Fong that he agrees to trigger the Avatar State later informing Katara and Sokka about his decision. Katara is upset with the notion and storms off. After a few peculiar attempts at triggering the Avatar State, Fong grows extremely desperate by making his Earthbenders attack him. Aang tries to fend off all the Earth obstacles being thrown at him but later, Fong traps Katara in sand. Aang begs him to stop saying he doesn’t know how to trigger it and then completely coats Katara in the sand. In a fit of rage, Aang awakens the Avatar State attacking Fong and the other Earthbenders destroying the area. Fong is gleefully impressed with this and thinks that he should use Aang to have better control over it before they fight the Fire Nation but then, Sokka hits him and they all leave. Elsewhere, after being instructed by her father to capture Zuko and Iroh who are now traitors to the Fire Kingdom, Azula visits Zuko and Iroh to inform them that their father regrets banishing Zuko so wants him to return home. Zuko believes her lie but Iroh grows suspicious. So Zuko decides to get on their ship to the Fire Kingdom after Iroh eventually agrees to accompany him. However, upon arriving at the Fire Kingdom, one of the guards spills the truth of Zuko and Iroh being ‘prisoners’ confirming that Azula was actually planning on throwing them in prison to die. Zuko fights Azula but she proves to be too powerful but later, Zuko gets saved by Iroh. Zuko and Iroh manage to flee safely but are now wanted criminals. Meanwhile, the trio are told by a band of bards that there’s a short cut cave that can lead them to the Omashu Kingdom but warns them that to be able to escape the cave, they must feel the love. They end up getting trapped not knowing the way out and encountering wolfbats along the way. Then, they get split with Sokka being with the bards and Aang and Katara finding a secret chamber that leads them to two tombs. They figure out that it’s the two lovers’ tombs and their whole love story is engraved in drawings. They were earthbenders who were secretly in love but then, the man Shu died in the war making the lady Oma angry but leading her to stop the conflict for good. The two villages they came from honoured them by creating the Omashu Kingdom. Katara figures out that there must be a showcase of love to find a path way out so suggests to Aang that they can kiss. However, Aang unintentionally shows disinterest which annoys Katara but they later kiss which instantly glows up the cave showing them the path way out. Meanwhile Sokka and the bards find the way ou
