millDENT makes dental prostheses with DWX-50 from Roland DG HD
German-based company millDENT specialises in the manufacture of dental prostheses made of zirconium. Founder Akin Öztürk uses the DWX-50 milling machine from Roland DG in the manufacturing process. The 5-axes machine is ideal for milling crowns and bridges in zirconium, PMMA and wax. "The DWX-50 is compact, easy to operate and much less expensive than similar machines from other manufacturers," Öztürk says. The Roland DWX-50 The DWX-50 is an advanced 5-axis production tool for the creation of high-quality dental prosthetics, including copings, crowns, full bridges and abutments using aesthetically-preferred zirconia, wax, PMMA and acrylic materials. In addition to milling on X, Y and Z axes, the DWX-50 rotates blocks and discs of zirconia 360 degrees in clockwise and counterclockwise movements and tilts them 20 degrees toward the front and back to support undercuts. The DWX-50 features an automatic tool changer that supports up to five different sizes of milling tools for an easy three-step production process. Users simply load the milling material and secure it with the included clamps, store tools in the tool magazine, and send milling data from the PC to the DWX. The DWX-50 automatically completes the job, allowing dental lab employees to focus on other tasks.
