Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy is safe and effective for pediatric patients with chronic pancreatitis Dan Wang, Ya-Wei Bi, Jun-Tao Ji et al. This study evaluated the efficacy and safety of pancreatic extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy in 72 pediatric patients with chronic pancreatitis. Complete pain relief was achieved in 77.6% of patients and adverse events occurred in 11.1 %. These results were similar to those achieved in a matched control group of adult patients.
