(Latitude C Family). Bios version: A14 Processor: Pentium III Operating system: Windows XP (Professional) Model No: PPX Ref number: 99080 IC class: C ICES-3 The Issues: 1. My Dell computer does not start up properly: I will push the on-button and the green start-up / power light will come on, but the computer will not start. There will be no sound of the computer working. Then, the light will turn off a few seconds later. How or when I press the on-button makes no difference. 2. At random, the blue screen of death will appear. Pictures these error messages are available at http://dell-problems.blogspot.com The error messages generally read: A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. If this is the first time youve seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps: Run a system diagnostic utility supplied by your hardware manufacturer. In particular, run a memory check, and check for faulty or mismatched memory. Try changing video adapters. Disable or remove any newly installed hardware and drivers. Disable or remove any newly installed software. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.
