Display codes without a scan tool, 2010 Subaru WRX HD
They are gonna take my baby!! Please support at www.spdweb.net Many Thanks!! In this video I show you how to pull codes from a 2010 Subaru WRX without a OBD2 code reader. This should work for many Subarus 2007 - 2012, not just the WRX. This car has codes: P0073 - Ambient air temp sensor high input? Of course, ITS HOT! C0057 C0072 C0047 This only happens when the outside air temp is above 95F or so. The car will randomly throw the code while driving. It will go away after 5 warm up cycles or if I clear the ECU with my reader or of course disconnecting the battery. I do have an Optima Redtop battery in the car which I am not at all impressed with. This is the second one as the first one failed within 6 months. I have not tried a battery tester on it, however with the old battery the voltage never dropped below 13.8 on the cars electrical system with the car running. With the Redtop in place I will see voltages as low as 12.7 in hot weather and that is when I seem to throw the codes. If the engine rpm dips, like when coming to a stop, the voltage droops and BOOM codes. I will have to do a battery test at work on a very hot day and see if it fails.
