This interview was conducted with Frank Hasling Pedersen, Architect, IT and BIM manager of Denmark-based Schønherr A/S, a landscape design firm. In the interview, Mr. Pedersen introduces the way their practice operates and gives a short insight into their design processes. Schønherr A/S, founded in 1984, is one of Denmark’s largest and most experienced landscape architecture, infrastructure and urban planning firms. Schønherr offers a wide range of services within landscaping and urban design – both classic architectural services in relation to landscaping and urban space – and more specialized areas within planning, supervision and ecology. Schønherr works with planning and design of the unbuilt environment and has wide experience in delivering solutions on all levels in the fields of urban and landscape architecture. They have a staff of roughly 50 architects and landscape architects working from offices in Aarhus and Copenhagen. Schønherr is in the transition process of changing their AutoCAD-based routine to a BIM-based workflow using ARCHICAD and LAND4. LAND4 is a comprehensive landscaping add-on created by Land Software, that lets landscape architects design and detail their projects using BIM.
