Be the change you want to see in the world - Mahatma Gandhi Everyone has its own beliefs upon the world and reality. We agree with some things and know which thing we want to change. And change is inevitable, but it has to come from within. I see myself as an open minded person; I see outside the box. I can scrutinize myself and analyze the society that we live in from an outside point of view. Because of my way of thinking I can draw objective conclusions, which sometimes make me sad and make me want to change the world. I want to change the system to change mentalities I want discrimination to vanish equal rights for women cooperation without borders I want a clean globalization, the rules of which should be entirely ours, the people I want tab water that really is clean the air to stop being polluted and I want world peace And I mean world peace not in the sense that they use it at beauty pageants, but in the sense that Buddha, Jesus and Gandhi meant it! Along the way I understood that change has to occur in me I have to want it. Only then I will be able to influence the change to happen in other people. But how can I touch as many people as I want? How can any message be transmitted in our era? I dont have the resources that Coke or McDonalds have but I have a great freedom, the first amendment the freedom of speech. This is, for now, my only weapon. As DArtagnan had his trusty sword, so do I, the journalist, have the word metamorphosed in a hypodermic needle. Any message that I want to send has to answer a question, and the way in which I chain my ideas together create a symphony. It has an introduction through which I hope to hook my audience; a body with ups and downs, like a rollercoaster, with variations in tempo; and a conclusion that should be fair to the whole article. YES writing a peace can be art. If one can organize an article in that perfect way, that wont let the reader go until he reaches the end, then one can sell anything. He could change mentalities he could manipulate he could bring down a president! In my country, Romania, there is a place where I can educate myself. In my hometown of Constanţa, that place is called the Ovidius University, Science of Communication Faculty. This is the cradle that will give birth to the defenders of todays democracy. Journalist that will know how to extract the truth out of somebody; will know where to look for a piece of evidence in order to unmask corruption; will be able to present their work in the best form and serve it to the readers like a gourmet dish. I want to change the world and I will achieve this through communication.
