Pantera – I’m Broken Riff (Lesson & TAB) HD

http://www.simonrevillmusic.com ‘I’m Broken’ by Pantera has to be one of the best riffs ever written by Dimebag Darrell. It’s also a good demonstration of what can be achieved using just a simple five-note minor pentatonic scale. It’s worth remembering that sometimes, less is more. The secret to getting the sound of this riff right is in the vibrato. Dimebag used a wide vibrato here which gives the riff a great sound along with the low tuning. Practice the riff without vibrato first as this will enable you get all of the slides and position shifts under your fingers. Once this is done, gradually add in a wide vibrato at a slower tempo. It will take you some time to get the vibrato working but it will be worth it. Finally, the tuning is C# Standard but upon listening to the recording, I’ve noticed that the guitar and bass are tuned about a quarter step sharp. This is worth remembering if you want to play along with the original recording. Software such as Capo or Transcribe! will allow you to pitch it down a quarter step to compensate for this. *Tuning is C# Standard (C# F# B E G# C#)* FREE eBook Download: Metal Rhythm Guitar Starter Guide http://www.simonrevillmusic.com/metal-rhythm-guitar/ Connect with Simon: ► Website: http://www.simonrevillmusic.com ► Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/simonrevillmusic ► Twitter: https://twitter.com/_simonrevill
