My friend MaximumHamburgers as many of you should remember, not only played drums but played a humongous role in making the progressive metal band's tracks, mixing, mastering. Through the past months of production, Mitchell has shared with me a lot of techniques, ideas, and back and forth on creating this album; all of which very helpful to my own music here. As both a thank you and self challenge to tackle guitarist James Fraser's outstanding riffs, I present an instrumental to rock out to. When I heard rough drafts, something about how the open chords and driven 6/8 beat got to me. I learned the song in Drop C at first, but recorded later with my 7 and Capo on 1st fret to simulate C Standard. The hardest parts include transcribing Mitchell's drums to Superior Drummer, AND hand-crafting every note, along with learning by ear James' riffs and sleek leads. There's influence from Dream Theater, video game music, Metallica, Pantera, and it sounds really unique as a result.
