Russia: Disabled war veterans pump iron to honour the heroes of WWII

03.06.2015
A sports festival for people with physical disabilities, many of them war-veterans, kicked off in the Russian city of Voronezh on Tuesday, with amazing displays of strength and agility. The event, organised by OOOIVA, an organisation for veterans with debilitating injuries, saw paraplegics doing press ups, weight lifting, acrobatics, and even table tennis. As part of the events, those with disabilities conducted sports education classes for young people, showing them how to handle equipment safely and perform strength-building and acrobatic exercises.
