Pop quiz: What’s endorsed by 5 social media celebrities, has a bunch of special guests, and aims to become the first competitive talent show based on a video game? No? The all new Just Dance World Cup and it’s brand new format for the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain of course! Since 2014, the Just Dance World Cup has unfurled it’s uniquely sparkly vision across the world of eSports – a vision that combines video games, physical activity and the chance to bust some phat moves. Here’s a rundown of the last final, featuring UK lad Chazza. This year, the World Cup is undergoing something of a reinvention – with the qualification process taking place in a reality show style for France, the UK, Germany, Italy and Spain. For these countries, four of the eight National contestants will be selected through live auditions on September 16th in their capital cities. These auditions will take place in front of a jury of experts and local social media stars. The other four contestants for each country will be selected, as in previous years, from the best performers in online qualification sessions using the game’s World Dancefloor mode. The eight selected contestants from each country will secure their place in the National Final, where they’ll be dancing to decide the National Champion. Then each National Champion will move on to the last stage of the competition: the Just Dance World Cup Finals set to take place in early 2018. The worldwide champion will have the unique opportunity to participate in the making of the next Just Dance, with the creation of their own map for Just Dance Unlimited. This year, the Just Dance World Cup has partnered with talented European Youtubers. Natoo in France, Sophia Grace in the UK, Julien Bam in Germany, Favij in Italy and Paula Gonu in Spain will bring their personality and creativity to the World Cup, and will stand as jury members during the National Finals.
