1939 Ruston Hornsby VRO4 WWII Mawdsley Generator cold start

He we have a 1939 Ruston Hornsby VRO 4 with a Mawdsley 31.3KVA generator set, belived to be a back-up generator from a Goverment Office building in London durring WW II. Serial no.195820 The video was shoot on a cold day around 5 degrees, It requird two sniffs of the dreaded easy start to help it along (the battery was slightly to small and very flat) The Load was across two phases one with over 100 x 100 w bulbs on it and the other 2x very large sodium lamps.
