CAA under pressure to complete 100,000 tonne cargo centre

The Civil Aviation Authority CAA, is under pressure to complete its new 100,000 Tones capacity cargo centre, if its to sustain a 6.5% annual growth projection. Currently strategic but limited export volumes of products such as fish, flowers and horticultural products are exported via Entebbe with still few imports through this aviation transport line. Dr David Mpangoi, CAA’s Acting Managing Director, says the completion of the Cargo Centre over the next 2 years; is part of the comprehensive upgrade of Entebbe International Airport which is being financed by the Exim Bank of China at a cost 700 Billion Shillings.
