LIVE: Grand gathering and military parade mark China’s 70th National Day

Subscribe to our channel! rupt.ly/subscribe Beijing hosts a grand gathering and military parade at Tiananmen Square in Beijing on Tuesday, October 1 during celebrations to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Chinese president Xi Jinping will attend the event and is set to deliver an important speech. After the gathering, an 80-minute military parade will take place showcasing Chinese military hardware developed over the past 70 years, including 160 fighters, bombers and other military planes, making it the biggest Chinese parade ever held, according to the deputy head of the office of the leading group for the military parade, Cai Zhijun. Some 15,000 military personnel including two Chinese female generals are expecting to march at Tiananmen Square to the sound of 50 patriotic songs performed by a thousand-strong military orchestra.
