Instructions to assemble and use the Gourmia GSJ300 Wide Mouth Masticating Slow Juicer This is my first slow masticating juicer and I love it. It comes with great instructions for putting it together and how to use, it also has some good tips in the user’s manual on vegetables and fruits. This juicer is heavy and means business. It gets more juice out of your vegetables and fruits than any juicer I have used before. With a regular juicer I probably would have ended up with about a fifth of what I got with this slow masticating juicer. And the resulting juice taste better. It’s fuller and richer. Juicing a carrot with a standard juicer, the juice is thin and watery and bitter. With a masticating juicer the juice is rich and full bodied in look and taste and you get the sweetness of the carrot. I absolutely love this juicer and it has renewed my love of juicing. It is a much healthier alternative to bottled juices that have already lost most of their nutritional value and may be loaded with additives and other harmful ingredients that you may not even know about like pesticides. This way you know what you are putting in your body. I save the pulp on most things I juice to use in recipes like muffins, bread, and such. And any leftover pulp can go into your compost. The juicer has suction cups on the bottom to hold your juicer in place while juicing. The bowl of the juicer has two separate spouts, one for pulp and one for your juice. The spout for the juice has a cap with an internal leak-proof seal that you open when you are ready to let the juice flow into the pitcher. There are two pitchers to go under the spouts and they are curved to hug the juicer. There is a strainer to fit into one of the pitchers for additional straining of your juice when pouring. The wire basket strainer is a strong fine metal mesh that lets very little pulp escape into your juice. It sits in a basket frame which sits down into the bowl. The screw is heavy and really does a phenomenal job of crushing and squeezing your fruit and veggies. The hopper has a wide mouth and most fruits and veggies can fit through it whole. There is a red dot on each component to assist you in lining them up when assembling. There is also a lock lever that if you do not assemble the juicer correctly the lever will not be depressed preventing the juicer from working as a safety mechanism. The power switch is on the back. In neutral position (center) it is off, press up to turn on, and to reverse you have to hold the button in the down position There is a step by step illustration in the manual showing how each piece fits together and locks into place. I purchased my juicer at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
