McCormick-Deering "baling wire engine" #14

01.01.2013
,, Slow and with patience,,, just basic engine rebuilding, we are not trying to remove any metal here, just a light hone to break the glaze and with an "in and out motion" we will leave a cross hatch pattern on the cylinder walls,,, ((remember, it is not a good idea to use a flex hone in two-cycle cylinders, ie: maytags)), engines that have intake and exhaust port openings in the sides of the cylinders should be honed with a special type of cylinder hone,,, do your homework before honing as most of these old engines are already worn past specs. so you want to keep all the metal in there you can and still end up with a good running, rebuilt engine,,,,, leave a comment, subscribe, pass it on, this has been #14 of this baling wire engine rebuilding series,, to be continued,
