Winnipeg fire crews battle vehicle fire HD

Vehicle Fire: Winnipeg fire department crews got reports of a vehicle fire Wednesday evening around 6:30 pm at the intersection of Inkster Blvd and Sheppard st. Fire crews arrived and found a fully engulfed pickup. Crews used hand tools to pry open the hood of the pickup and extinguish the fire in the engine bay. The fire then got into the fuel system and ignited the gas in the fuel tank. Crews battled the fire for 45 mins until all the fuel was out of the tank and the fire was fully extinguished. West bound lanes were shut down while fire crews extinguished the fire. Lanes have now opened. It’s unknown how the fire started.
