PA using a Guitar Amp by Wiring a DI box BACKWARDS HD

I have no idea what I am doing here, so replicate this at your own risk. I know that I can take a line-level signal, pass it through a DI box, and it turns into a mic-level signal. That is a voltage conversion I think. I had a crazy idea that I could wire it backwards, plugging a dynamic mic into the output of the DI box, and plugging the input side into the Guitar Amp. IT WORKED! I have no idea if anything will explode, or break. The sound is not beautiful, but it is loud. This is intended for non-technical people to use at a church youth camp, for flag ceremony and announcements.
