Pine Island Playhouse presents The Wizard of Oz

A Letter from the Director Welcome to the Wizard of Oz! Here are a few things about the story and the concept behind this production before we get started. I wrote this adaptation basing the story entirely on the book by L. Frank Baum. The 1939 film took a lot of creative license with the original story and I want you to see some of the bits and pieces that the film left out. The set and costumes designs were pulled directly from the original 1900 illustrations by W.W. Denslow. For those of you who read the story when you were young I think you will remember his unique style brought to life in this production. I could go on forever about the amount of work that was put into this production and my appreciation is abounding! Enjoy the show!
