Honda WRV, the much-awaited sub-4 metre SUV from the Japanese carmaker, has been confirmed for the India launch that will happen on 16th March 2017. The company has already begun taking pre-orders for the car across the country. One has to pay an initial sum of Rs 21,000 for placing an order at any authorized Honda dealership. Honda says that WRV has been developed as a Sporty Lifestyle Vehicle for the Indian consumers who aspire for a compact yet feature-loaded vehicle. Honda Cars India (HCI) has confirmed that it will roll out the WRV on 16th March 2017. Though, the deliveries of the car are likely to be commenced in April 2017. To be available in two trim levels – S and VX, the WRV will gun up straight against the Hyundai i20 Active, Ford EcoSport, VW Cross Polo, etc. Therefore, the pricing is likely to be parallel to the competition. That said the estimated Honda WRV price in India will fall between Rs 7 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. Honda WRV Exterior Siting on the Jazz platform, the subcompact crossover appears a rugged and sportier avatar of its hatchback sibling. That said, it features new front styling with a robust bumper and chiselled chin. The smoked headlamp cluster with black inserts and a new grille with thick chrome band, reminiscent of Honda BR-V. The beefy front bumper with integrated round fog lamps and large wraparound headlamps with integrated daytime running lamps further enhance its SUV-ish fascia. The side profile is adorned by muscular fenders, silver roof rails, black plastic cladded wheel arches and doors. The crossover runs on diamond cut alloy wheels fitted with large 16-inch tyres. Traces of similarity with Jazz are visible around rear fender and doors. Towards the rear, the car sports Jazz-inspired LED tail-lamps, rear bumper with faux aluminium skid plate and thick body cladding. Honda WRV Competition The upcoming car from Honda India will take on the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport, Hyunda i20 Active, Toyota Etios Cross, Fiat Avventura and Toyota Etios Cross.
