MTV : TINGGAYUN IN CONCERT

A Bajau traditional song in title "Tinggayun" was in concert during the Kota Belud "Tamu Besar" on the 29 October 2011. The song was performed by the original artist, Rudah Hj. Sawang ( Bajau popular artist in Sabah ). Venue : Kota Belud Town, Sabah, Malaysia. Sebuah lagu Bajau ala tradisi bertajuk "Tinggayun" berada di konsert semasa sambutan Tamu Besar Kota Belud pada 29 Oktober 2011. Lagu ini dipersembahkan oleh penyanyi asal, Rudah Hj. Sawang ( artis popular Bajau di Sabah ). Turut mengiringi persembahan di atas pentas adalah penari-penari Lembaga Kebudayaan Negeri Sabah. Tempat : Padang Bandaran Kota Belud, Sabah, Malaysia. Kota Belud - The Costumes Of Bajau. The Bajau are best known for their Kain Dastar or Podong. This richly woven cloth is normally worn as a head dress by men but sometimes the women wear it as a sash. The formal wear for Bajau men consists of Badu Sampit or Bajau Sipak, a high collared shirt with gold buttons all the way down, and sleeves slashed at the elbows. This is worn with Seluar Sama, a pair of baggy pants and held at the waist by a silver belt. Muslim women wear the Sarimpak head dress to complement their formal wear. It is boat-shaped and has many dangling attachments called Garigal or Rumbai. They also wear badu sipak over which they put on the mendapun which is something like a bib, through a very ornate one at that. Their full-length sarong is called olos belangkit and also worn with a silver belt.
