Your ol’ BG is here to help! What we have here is your basic Paul Newman, who liked to act, so he did. He liked to race cars, so he did. He liked to do push ups and sit ups every day, so he did. He liked to do charity work, so he did. He liked Joanne Woodward a whole lot so he married her and stayed married to her for fifty years. He liked to do quality films whenever possible and gave great performances even when he clearly had to carry water for some mediocre writers and directors. Cool Hand Luke was a top-notch script that brought out the best in Newman because he was great at exploring the condition of being human. I heard people used to do that in movies. I’d say emulating a guy like that pretty much IS fighting the system in 2016, and I’m gonna pretend that’s what your Dad told you. Queue it up, let’s do this.
