Popsicle Stick Chain Reaction HD

06.07.2012
This is something I learned from TV. These Popsicle sticks are woven into a diamond pattern. This pattern creates tension on the sticks which, when you finished the structure, is held together by a ballast placed at the end of the structure. Course I used a coconut as a ballast. Once the ballast is removed, all that tension is released, causing the chain reaction. The first part of this is a TIMELAPSE of the assembly process at 144 times speed. I did finish it but, before I was ready, my foot hits the coconut and the chain went off. I built another one in the morning and that time, it went off when I wanted it to. Both of these were built from 300 Popsicle sticks and it took about two hours to build them. but well worth it when you see the reaction for yourself! this link takes you to a video that shows how its built http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BX2Np_9rGOw&feature=youtu.be
