1943 BBC Radio Broadcast No.9 - "Music While You Work"
London in 1943 and the BBC is continuing with its popular "Music While You Work" radio shows featuring The Victory Band playing light swing numbers, some of which were already quite old but still popular at the time. London was "carrying on", people were protesting about the release from prison of pro-fascist Mosely, almost constant streams of servicemen embarking and disembarking, and the eternal London buses were still everywhere, but overall the streets were safer for most of 1943. (Watch out for a 1943 young Harry Potter lookalike in the street serving ice creams - or maybe it was his father.....)
