Gauge: #13US needles (9 mm) k=knit p=purl k2tog=knit 2 stitches together p2tog=purl 2 stitches together ssl= slide 2 stitches, one at a time, to right needle and knit. Repeat from * to * Cast on 51stitches. Knit 15 rounds, until hat is about 7" (18 cm.) from the beginning. I used long tail cast on. Latvian Twist: 1.- Purl 2.- Knit 3.- Purl Twist row: k3, twist, *k5, twist* knit last 3. 1.- *k1, p1* end with k1. 2.- *k1, p1* end with k1. 3.- Purl 4.- Knit 5.- Purl 6.- Knit 7.- Purl 8.- Knit Repeat rows 1 to 8, one more time. Work rows 1 to 3 and on 4th row: Knit 24, k2tog, knit to last 3, k2tog, p1= 49 Purl row 5 of this section and Begin decreases. 1.- *k6, k2tog* 6 times, end with k1= 43 2.- Purl 3.- *k5, k2tog* 6 times, end with k1= 37 4.- Purl 5.- *k4, k2tog* 6 times, end with k1= 31 6.- Purl 7.- *k3, k2tog* 6 times, end with k1= 25 8.- Purl 9.- *k2, k2tog* 6 times, end with k1= 19 10.- Purl 11.- *k1, k2tog* 6 times, end with k1= 13 12.- p2tog the whole row, end with k1= 7 Cut yarn, leaving a long tail, at least 24” Draw tail through live stitches to close. Sew sides together, make knit and weave in ends.
