The Monterey International Pop Festival was a three-day concert that took place on June 16-18, 1967 at the Monterey County Fairgrounds. It launched the careers of Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and The Who, and served as the blueprint for music festivals to come, from Woodstock to Coachella.
