This is my cover of “Evil Angel” by Breaking Benjamin from the album “Phobia”. Hope you enjoy it! Stay tuned for more covers! This is one of the first BB tunes with a Chad Szeliga drum part that I started playing along to. One of my favorites! I love all the little busy detail that never seems overplayed but supports the song so well. As far as my approach to learning and accuracy this song is a good example of how drummer writes a part in the studio and then live comes up with variations and changes from the album version. Chad has a YouTube video lesson on this one, but I used it mainly as reference not a note for note copy as I strived to stay true to the album version as I did not have a drumless track. Definitely check out his lesson though, Chad is quite a talented musician! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6mvo7701qo If my snare sounds different in this video I switched out my 13” Dw Edge Snare that I’ve used for every cover thus far for a 14” cast aluminum snare. It was so much easier to EQ! I might continuing using it. Also I had a bit of help from Jerimy at Little Drummer Channel https://www.youtube.com/user/9jerimy on proper eq ranges for each mic and was able to partially implement these on the snare.
