This appearance was an exclusive solo concert in Kansas City, Missouri. It was one of a series of concerts sponsored by Kansas City Ragtime Revelry. Mr. Dowling is a competition veteran and frequent prizewinner, he has won first place in the San Antonio International Keyboard Competition, the Louise D. McMahon International Music Competition (OK), the Oklahoma Symphony Concerto Competition, the Shreveport (LA) Symphony/Wideman Concerto Competition, the Midland/Odessa (TX) National Young Artist Audition, the Brazos Valley (TX) Symphony Young Artists Competition, and the Houston Tuesday Musical Club Competition among others, and was declared the National Winner of the prestigious Music Teachers National Association Collegiate Artist Competition. While studying at Yale University, Dowling was honored with the Lockwood Award for performing the best recital and the Simonds Award for outstanding solo and ensemble playing. He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance from The University of Texas and has held positions as Artist-in-Residence at Lamar University in Texas and at The Harid Conservatory of Music in Boca Raton, Florida. In addition to his regular concert performances, Mr. Dowling enjoys performing as a member of the artist roster of The Piatigorsky Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing live classical music to audiences across America. Over the past ten years he has performed over 700 recitals under its auspices. Mr. Dowling currently resides in New York.
