Of course, he kept it classy, but suggested that the Oscars were nothing more than a “party”. Well, it appears he still feels the same way. The 48-year-old as giving an interview about his latest film, Collateral Beauty, when the topic of award shows came up. And when asked about whether he’ll be keeping his fingers crossed for a nominee in 2017 – Will gave an honest answer. He said that it used to be that if you didn’t get a mention, you would be hiding under the bed for three weeks. Then he added that it’s always fun to be invited to the party, but that’s all it can be. So yeah – to him the Oscars are a party. And nothing more. Will and Jada slammed the Academy last year due to its lack of diversity, as the 20 acting nominees were all white. Something that happened in 2015 as well. Still no word on whether Will’s performance in Collateral Beauty will be enough to earn a nod – but we don’t imagine he’s holding his breath.
