300kg/661lbs DEADLIFT @ 81.5kg in competition. (Kbooey) 20y/o HD

20.12.2015
Finally pulling 300kg/661lbs @ 81.5kg in competition. Unofficially breaking my previous national record by 14 kgs (Not enough national judges present only Kerri-Anne Cauchi) How the comp went if you can be bothered reading: The heat was at a sweltering 40 degrees inside. I Injured my shoulder moving a large industrial fridge almost being crushed by it and could barely bench 40kg 2 days out of the competition. I opened with a conservative 100kg and somehow I managed a 140kg benchpress on the 3rd attempt despite missing it on the 2nd attempt and doing it for a paused double last week. This injury made me approach my squats with caution as I did not know how much weight my shoulder could withstand and got 200kg and missed 225kg on depth. Deadlifts felt fine, they went 260/290/300, the only issue was the inability to use talcum/baby powder and the bar getting caught on my sticky summer legs. Totaled 640kg making a 31kg comp PB. A true testament to the resilience of the human body and modern medicine aka. anti-inflams (non-steroidal) and painkillers. Getting my ultra sound and X-ray tomorrow, gonna tell the doc I competed anyway despite his stern warning. ‪#‎yolo‬ https://www.facebook.com/barbellcrew instagram @ kbooey
