Kobe "Laker Fans We Don`t Cry Over (spitl) Milk"

07.12.2011
The Los Angeles Lakers are looking to make a deal to improve the current roster, but new reports have the team actually pursuing two deals. ESPN is reporting that the Lakers want to trade for both Dwight Howard(notes) and Chris Paul(notes), setting up a roster that would have Kobe Brant as one of the few players to stay with the franchise. It would create a scenario where the Lakers could immediately get a lot younger and have a plan for success when Bryant decides to retire from the game. In order for the Lakers to make a deal or two deals like this happen, the Orlando Magic will need assets to come back for Howard and the New Orleans Hornets will want talented assets as well. On the outside, it just seems very unlikely that the Lakers could put together two package deals that would make the other franchises happy, but at the same time, Orlando and New Orleans might not have a strong position to bargain from. If Howard and Paul want out of their current cities, they hold a lot of cards when it comes to agreeing to sign a new contract with a trading partner.
