Like the rifles described in Part 1, Poland inherited an assortment of handguns in 10 different, non-interchangeable calibers. Rather than depend on French supplied Spanish made "Ruby" style pistols in .32 ACP or purchase expensive handguns from Czechoslovakia, Polish engineers developed one of the best handguns of WWII, the VIS 35, commonly called the “Radom.” After the factory was captured by the Nazis, the handgun continued in production at Radom with barrels and assembly at the Steyr works in Austria. The VIS 35 became the third most produced front line handgun in Nazi service after the P-38 and P-08, and ahead of the Browning Hi-Power. Filmed and edited on an iPhone 11.
