She learned how to talk in English when she was just three years old. Just by watching You Tube videos of English children who were playing with Playdough, puppets etc. She did not wanted to speak in Dutch anylonger so we all had to talk in English with her. Now she speaks in the language she feels like on that moment ..sometimes Dutch, mostly English and even a bit in Spanish cause we are living in Spain now. We have driven through many countries and learned how to cope in the supermarkets etc with a bit of the language of that country. For us learning different languages is something that really belongs to our life. So my children learn French, German, Spanish, English and at least how to count and say the most important things in some other languages. Learning another language can really be a lifesaver when you have to call 911 for help and the person on the other side of the phone cannot speak in your language. Cause that is the reality in most countries, most of the people do not want to learn another language and cannot communicate then on difficult moments, or just to connect or make business with others. Times are changing people. Give your child the chance to learn different languages. It can really open his or hers world!
