Vortec 350 build. HD

21.07.2016
This is my 86 Chevy resto mod project. The motor is a new GM L31 Vortec crate motor. The mods are, Machined valve guide boss to fit Comp cams 26981 beehive springs, Screw in studs, Chromalloy 1 piece push rods, roller cam with .475/.475 lift – 214*/224* duration @0.050 – 263/273 ADV – 110 LSA – 106 ICL, Jegs double roller timing chain, Edelbrock performer EPS intake, Holley 670 street avenger ( Put the rear 68 jets in the front and put 71 jets in the rear, changed orange accelerator pump cam with blue cam on #2 spot, Stiffer secondary spring) Hooker comp headers, Hooker 2 ¼” mandrel bent exhaust, Hooker Euro chamber mufflers, 9.4:1 compression, Moroso 7 QT kicked out sump pan, Summit oil pump with welded pick up, Buss 4 core radiator for automatic transmission. The truck has a MS465 transmission with 205 transfer case, 10.5” full floating limited slip axle rear with 4.10 gears, early Dayna 44 open diff front, Front lift shackles, Extra spring rear for lift, 315-75-16 tires. If I had to guess I would say the truck makes close to 350 HP and 400 FTLBs torque. Going to be building a full manual 4L60E with just about every thing replaced and upgraded including a 2,300 stall with balloon plate as I will be adding NOS in the future and 4.88 gears after the transmission swap. The gears in the MS465 are too far apart for me. Once I get the running gear upgraded I will start on interior and exterior restoration as well as suspension replacement. Going to keep the same tire size and lift but going to get a soft ride kit and longer shocks. Saving for rims and tires as of now though because the tires are shot.
