Raspberry Pi 3 Dreamcast Emulation - 12 Dreamcast Games Tested with RetroPie 3.6 (Reicast) HD
Raspberry Pi 3 Dreamcast Emulation - 12 Dreamcast Games Tested with RetroPie 3.6 on the Reicast Emulator. Hey Guys, Raspberry Pi 3 is here with a faster 64bit processor running at 1.2GHz. I have overclocked mine to 1.35GHz to test out if it has the power to run Dreamcast games at a playable level. It is worth pointing out that this little guy does get hot compared to the Pi 2, so it is definitely worth investing in a heatsink if you decide to pick one up.. maybe you could overclock higher! To overclock the Pi3 you need to do the following: Manually edit the /boot/config.txt file and edit the following line: arm_freq=1350 Also add these two: over_voltage=6 sdram_freq=500 Careful though as the Pi3 gets hot! Below is a list of the games I tested and timestamps to where the emulaton begins. Hope you enjoy the vid! (Whoops, there was 12 games but Street Fighter 3 Third Strike seems to have been cut out of the vid! Only 11 for now) Jet Set Radio on Raspberry Pi 3 with the Reicast Emulator Status - Semi Playable 0:00 Crazy Taxi on Raspberry Pi 3 with the Reicast Emulator Status - Choppy 4:37.06 Ikaruga Status - Semi Playable 8:34.14 Marvel Vs Capcom 2 on Raspberry Pi 3 with the Reicast Emulator Status - Playable 15:02.22 Powerstone on Raspberry Pi 3 with the Reicast Emulator Status - Playable 18:48.11 Resident Evil - Code: Veronica on Raspberry Pi 3 with the Reicast Emulator Status - Playable 22:39.15 Shenmue on Raspberry Pi 3 with the Reicast Emulator Status - Playable 36:36.23 Skies of Arcadia on Raspberry Pi 3 with the Reicast Emulator Status - Playable 45:30.27 Sonic Adventure on Raspberry Pi 3 with the Reicast Emulator Status - Semi Playable (Slightly choppy) 54:18.07 Soul Caliber on Raspberry Pi 3 with the Reicast Emulator Status - Playable 1:03:37.10 Virtua Tennis on Raspberry Pi 3 with the Reicast Emulator Status - Choppy 1:09:15.22 If you enjoyed this video and the easy of moving through the various games please like and subscribe!
