#HorizonZeroDawn #GTX1070 #Ryzen3600 Horizon Zero Dawn PC Patch 1.09 tested and benchmarked on Ryzen 5 3600 and GTX 1070. Greetings, everyone. A new update for Horizon Zero Dawn has been released on PC, you can check the patch notes here: https://store.steampowered.com/newshub/app/1151640/view/2914355656287078302 My current PC specs: -CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 (stock settings) with Coolermaster Hyper 212 Black RGB (w/2 fans, push-pull). -Mobo: MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC. -GPU: Inno3D Twin X2 GTX 1070 (stock) and WHQL driver 457.51. -RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport LT (2x8GB) CL16 DDR4@3200 Mhz. -Storage: PNY XLR8 CS3030 1TB NVMe (O.S. and game), Samsung 750 EVO 500 GB. -Case: Fractal Design Meshify S2 (Intake: 2x140 Front, 1x120 Lower Front - Exhaust: 1x140 Rear, 1x120 Top/VRM Area). -PSU: Corsair RMx 650W 80+ Gold. -O.S: Windows 10 Pro 64bit (v.2004). -Monitor: AOC AGON AG251FG 1080p-240Hz. Some timestamps: [BENCHMARKS] 00:00 - Intro and Ultimate Settings benchmark 01:26 - High preset benchmark 05:18 - Original (Console) Settings 05:58 - Low Settings benchmark [IN GAME] 06:35 - Custom Settings gameplay (1080p) 10:35 - 4K DSR Downsampling VRAM usage check 12:44 - 1440p DSR Downsampling This patch promises some crash fixes and optimizations, especially in the VRAM department, and now we can also check the actual VRAM requested by the game, because until now only the one shown in Rivatuner was what we had to base all the info on, and it usually is inaccurate, sometimes it’s very close to the real VRAM usage but in a modern OS, more stuff may be causing the system to reserve more memory than it’s actually needed, or being used, and this is the case. Anyway, I haven’t seen any performance improvements, in fact my benchmarks show a very tiny reduction in average FPS, but it’s not really important. Patch 1.08 already made Ultra Settings a bit more manageable, and that’s still the case for 1.09. Bigger news than knowing the actual VRAM requirements at last is the fact that they have fixed the bug where we got stuck after looting stuff when the “forward movement” key was pressed. It’s fixed, finally, after 9 patches, and 2+ months after release, it was about time, really. I haven’t tested if Anisotropic is working or not, we don’t talk about AF anymore, have some respect for the elder yet so complex graphical tech, please. As usual, I hope this can be useful to any of you, and I’ll see you in the next one : )
