In this case, the owner, Greg Smith, needed to create a product that would allow him to shave, free of irritation that his eczema caused with aerosol based shaving cream. Mr. Pepper is an homage to the popular soda-pop drink, Dr. Pepper, which also happens to be native to Texas. The scent smell extremely similar to the drink its it intended to represent. It features notes of vanilla, caramel, cola, cherry, and juniper. The scent even opens with a similar effervescence of carbonation. This is what I’d consider a smile scent. It is sweet but inoffensive and will remind you of the soda-pop you’ve had before. I cannot see this as a date night wear or something you’d want to smell like in a professional setting, so I’d say this is a casual wear. Scent strength is strong, both off the container and once lathered. Soaps with a similar vibe are: The Sudsy Soapery Cola and Wickham Soaps Club Cola. Central Texas Soaps uses a vegan soap base. The ingredients are listed as: Coconut Oil, Stearic Acid, Shea Butter, Castor Oil, Aloe Vera, Glycerin, Water, Potassium Hydroxide, Bentonite Clay, and Fragrance. The soap is of mid firmness. It is not of extreme thirst but will take a good bit of water without dissipating. The lather is voluminous and dense and will remind you of cool whip once dialed in. This, like many vegan soaps, is a high structure lather. Slickness is very good, both in the primary and secondary areas. Post shave is also very good and leaves a luxurious feeling on the skin.
