Art in Video Games, Los Angeles - Series Trailer - Art in Video Games - MOCAtv HD

12.06.2014
"Art in Video Games Los Angeles" is a thirteen-part documentary series about the local community of academics, game makers and thinkers who are pushing the limits of the medium. With schools like University of Southern California and University Of California, Los Angeles pioneering efforts to promote the exploration of interactive media, video games attract creative risk-takers that create and participate in a games community unlike anywhere else in the world. As a contemporary art capital, Los Angeles provides a landscape that encourages collaboration amongst those who want to break away from tradition and set themselves apart from the games created by major studios and publishers. The series includes interviews with veterans like Tracy Fullerton, Richard Lemarchand, Sam Roberts and Stephanie Barish, and profiles several from the new school of game artists, including Kellee Santiago and Jenova Chen ("Journey"), Ian Dallas ("The Unfinished Swan") and Mark Essen ("Nidhogg"). In conjunction with the series, Keita Takahashi, creator of "Katamari Damacy" (2004), designed an animated gif of the MOCAtv logo, inspired by his most recent project, which is being developed at San Francisco-based Funomena. Executive Produced by Alexander Dervin & Kurt Mattila Produced by Prologue Pictures Consultant Curator: Sarah Brin
