PREGNANT WOMAN STABBING DEATH UPDATE: Tempe PD Identifies Suspect (FNN) HD
Tempe Police officials have identified the man arrested and accused of stabbing a pregnant 39-year-old woman to death. Tempe Police responded to the incident to an apartment complex near 8th Street and McClintock Drive early Sunday morning, for reports of a woman screaming in the parking lot. When officials arrived on scene they found the 39-year-old woman suffering from stab injuries. The woman, identified by police on Monday as Kristina Howato, died at Scottsdale Osborn Hospital, along with her unborn baby. Howato, according to Tempe Police, was a Lyft driver, and was allegedly killed by a customer. Howato was picking up Durazo in the 600 block of S. Perry Lane in Tempe, and the suspect allegedly stabbed Howato with a kitchen knife inside and outside of the car, and stole the car. Hoiwato stagged from apartment to apartment, banging on doors, and then she slumped on a flight of stairs. The suspect, identified on Monday as 20-year-old Fabian Durazo, was taken into custody on the I-10 near Quartzite, which is near the California border. Durazo were able to track Durazo using GPS.
