800 million particles on 16 GPUs (PIConGPU 3D) HD
PIConGPU 3D This is a relativistic particle-in-cell simulation of laser particle acceleration in an underdense hydrogen plasma. We use our new tiling memory model to speed up particle in cell simulations on gpus. Simulation data: - 2 x 8 x 1 GPUs (4xTesla S1070 on 4 nodes) - 512x1536x512 cells simulated area, cell size 74.3nm x 44.3nm x 74.3nm, 2 makro electrons per cell (random position in cell) - one iteration simulates 0.03fs - sliding window (enhanced simulation area) - every 20th iteration dumped as visualization image for 2D video and every 50th iteration is dumped for 3D part - 25.000 simulated iterations Summary: - particles at start = 800 mill. makro particles Legend: - Green = laser - Red = density of electrons - Blue = momentum of makro particles in a cell Read more about PIConGPU on http://picongpu.hzdr.de Sound: The music stays under Creative Commons-licensed and was downloaded here: http://createdigitalmusic.com/2009/10/happy-halloween-8-bit-creative-commons-free-holiday-music-mix/
