Help Save Our Rhinos HD
TAKE ACTION - HELP SAVE OUR RHINO This awesome group needs your support, they have lost a pilot and a helicopter! Please help ! Terri New With the demand for rhino horn, poachers are killing rhino at an alarming rate - if they continue like this, rhinos will disappear from our planet within our lifetime. We need your help to save the (our...your) rhino! In an effort to assist with the rhino poaching epidemic, the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve is darting and microchipping our rhino population Did you know the worlds rhino population has declined 90% since 1970? The darting go the rhino (implanting micro-chips in the horn, ear notching and collecting data on the rhino) is a part of the ongoing efforts to build a national database of all South Africa’s rhinos. It’s all about gathering enough information about each creature to potentially build watertight criminal cases against criminals should these animals be targeted. This is not an income producing project for the reserve, but a genuine conservation project where the reserve endeavors to give back to nature by chipping as many rhinos as possible. You can now donate to help save rhinos! Your financial support, no matter how small, will contribute towards critically needed rhino protection projects in South Africa. They have lived and been brought up here in the bush at Kings Camp. They have been on at least 6 rhino darting operations and just love the experience. Both are deeply passionate about the bush and wildlife and already have a wealth of knowledge. They recently spent their own pocket money to buy candy and then set up a stall here at the lodge on the lawn to sell the candy to the guests. Their aim was to raise money for rhino protection. It was my parents love for coming to the bush that got me hooked from a young age. We used to come up to the Kruger at least 3 times a year and from as far back as I can remember that is the only thing i have ever wanted to do, be in the bush. After school I studied and completed a 3 year National Diploma in Nature Conservation and then joined Kings Camp in Dec 1995 as a guide. www.AfricanSafaris.travel
