NeverBefore(Stoner Metal Band from CHINA):Live In MAO

Never Before, formed in 2011, is China’s first stoner metal band, based in Beijing. The music is influenced and inspired by many related genres, ranging from early blues rock and psychedelia, through traditional-sounding stoner rock, to heavier sounds of stoner metal, sludge and doom. The music appeals equally to fans ready to tune into the retro elements of Deep Purple or Black Sabbath, as to an audience looking for mosh-pits worthy the grooves of Crowbar and Down. Since the release of their debut EP in October 2013 (“Evil Straw Warts Live”), the band has rapidly gained media attention in China. The live shows, full of both rhythmic aggression and atmospheric improvisation, have introduced a completely new sound into Beijing’s metal scene. After a year of intensive gigging across China in 2014, the band is currently in the process of recoding its first full-length album, to be released in 2015.
