ONI: Sword Base :: Normal 5:44 - World Record HD

Hey guys. This is, according to highspeedhalo.net, the current world record for the mission ONI: Sword Base on Normal difficulty. I do it in 5:44. This is a pretty good run, but there are some areas that I could do faster. I could do the first area faster, I could kill the hunters faster, and I could do the last part faster. Also, if I would not have been hit by a plasma grenade while in the ghost it would have been at least 5 seconds faster. Overall, it is a decent run though. I was trying to get the world record on Legendary difficulty, but I became frustrated and wanted a break. Therefore, I tried it on Normal and got this on my third try. The next segment breaks down what exactly you want to do for a good run. 1. Sprint forward right away and grenade the grunts. You should get an easy overkill. Second, grenade the jackals that are up the ramp to your left. Often some of these grunts or jackals will be alive after you target locate the area, so if you kill them before hand, it will speed up the process. 2. Target locate the area that I did. It does not have to be that exact area, but I noticed that it seems to work the most reliably. Keep the target locater for later. 3. Sprint to the rockets that I picked up. These will be used on the hunters. 4. Sprint to the area where the ghost is. Then sprint as soon as you are to the area I was. This will give you a high success rate when jacking the ghost. (Note: You can actually punch out the grunt and then get on the ghost to save a little time; however, you will occasionally pick up the grunts plasma pistol if you do this, so I do not do that method. 5. Once your ghost boost is full, speed to directly underneath the button that you push to activate the AA gun. Jump up and hold X (or whatever your action button is) while looking in the correct area, and you will activate the button. Get back in your ghost and boost away. 6. Around the corner before you meet the two ghosts, let your boost recharge. Once it is full, boost quickly around the cliff. Let off boost for a second while you turn, and then boost to Faraday Outpost. 7. Jump out of your ghost and use your action button through the wall to activate the switch. 8. Get in your ghost and boost to the doorway of the next button. Get out and sprint up the stairs. 9. Spring jump off of the second floor onto the third floor. (Note: This is only to save a couple seconds. If you are unable to spring jump, just take the stairs.) Activate the button. 10. Jump down into your ghost and boost as far as it will take you. Wait for it to recharge, and boost to the next button that opens the door to Sword Base. 11. On your way through, target locate the piece of geometry that I do. This kills all of the enemies quickly and saves you a lot of time. 12. For the hunters, a guaranteed kill is two direct rockets and a grenade. Sometimes you will get lucky and they will shoot each other, but do not count on it. 13. Sprint to the elevator and activate it. (Note: Make sure
