(27:57) The Legend of Zelda any% speedrun (former world record)
UPDATED WORLD RECORD VIDEO https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVFq0H6D6_M Comments are disabled here because a new record has been achieved. First ever 27! Beat the super-old world record of 28:01 set by me 45 minutes prior to this run. Difference between any% and any% no up+a: The any% no up+a category bans the use of pressing up+a on the 2nd controller while in the item select menu. Doing so will allow you to select Continue | Save | Retry. This allows for save warping, a technique that saves keys and walking. Any% category allows the use of this technique. After the use of up+a after getting the recorder, the route is the same as any% no up+a (except you need one less key, which I skip in the 9th board). This is a great achievement, getting the first 27 in Zelda 1 history. Most of the credit goes to twitch.tv/eunosxx, who routed out this category and put in a lot more work than myself. This speedrun uses several glitches: screen scrolling, block clipping, and ladder clipping. You can check out more information on these glitches at redcandle.us Update: beat by twitch.tv/rcdrone on 4/19/19 -- Watch live at https://www.twitch.tv/lackattack24
