The weather is getting colder making it harder to work on the zr2 and complete my projects outside. This week I swapped out the gas tank and the fuel filler neck along with the hoses and isolating materials for the tank. I could not get the correct rubber to isolate the tank the same day so I improvised and used some sticky rubber roof and window seal material to Isolate the gas tank from the mounting straps. I believe it was called peal and seal from Lowes hardware. The new rubber hoses were from Napa Auto Parts where the sales guys were very helpful. The fuel pump from the old tank was less than a year old so I swapped the pump into the replacement tank. The truck no longer leaks or has a gas smell. A body lift would make the process much easier but my access hole cut in the rear floor of the blazer makes the process easier. I call it the trap door mod.
