Hotel Blue (Albuquerque, NM) - Full Hotel Tour HD

[Filmed on 2013-06-13 & 14.] Technical Specs: File Size 2.3GB; Upload Time 30 minutes; Processing Time: 2 hours.] The hotel tour from this summer is finally live. Although this location is central to downtown Albuquerque, it is pretty run down. To start off with, it has outdoor corridors, which can be forgiven if the rooms were nice. The regular rooms were pretty small. The door was nearly broken, had cracks in it, and let in a draft. The air conditioner was the worst. It took 6 hours to cool down the room, when we arrived, it was off (unusual because in hotels it is usually on). Thankfully, it was not that hot when we visited Albuquerque, each night, some clouds and thunderstorms came in to relieve us of the heat. The air conditioner in the elevator lobby did not even turn on. Some outside lighting fixtures were rusty and dilapidated. Unfortunately, the underground garage was closed for no reason, so our vehicle was in the elements and heat. The parking lot is gated because of the criminal activity at night. On the plus side, they really did have HDTVs and DirecTV HD in every room (no DVR). The Tempur-Pedic beds were really nice, this was my first time sleeping on one. Breakfast was okay. The luggage carts were really unstable and nearly tipped over going over the door seal. Again, the small room presented a challenge with the luggage cart in it. If that was not enough, on the last day of our stay, Friday, 14 June 2013, the right elevator became stuck. It was stuck on a floor, so no one was trapped; the outer shaft door would not close. The elevator service was painfully slow with only one elevator. If you did not need to use it, the stairs were 2-5x faster. They really need to be replaced with MRL traction elevators (TK Synergy or OTIS Gen2). LINK TO TRIPADVISOR REVIEW: http://www.tripadvisor.com/members-reviews/artiepenguin1
